Treating symptoms and complications of the disease

"Anytime I feel pain or discomfort, an alarm goes off in my head: Is the disease back? Occasionally everyone feels body pains in various parts, but the difference lies in the fact that a healthy person never gets this paranoid…"
Alojz, 73 years old
Sadly, the treatment of the disease can cause of uncomfortable symptoms and complications. Pay close attention to possible complications throughout the treatment. Supportive therapy consists of specific groups of medicines or feed medicines. Antibiotics are taken for infection protection or for infection treatment. If the infections are frequent, patients can be treated with non-specific antibodies (immunoglobulins) to boost their immune system. These are excreted from the blood of multiple blood donors. Sometimes, the physician has to prescribe additional fluid intake when dealing with infections thus preventing desiccation and further renal impairment.
If the patient suffers from immense bone pains orthopedic intervention might be necessary in addition to pain relief with prescription medications. This will improve flexibility and alleviate pain. For example, if a vertebra is broken, the fracture could be treated with vertebraplasty or kyphoplasty (injecting bone cement into the injured vertebra). As a rule, the patient receives medicine to reduce skeletal injuries caused by the disease (bisphosphonate). When a patient suffers from anemia, medicine which stimulates the formation of erythrocytes can be taken (epoetin), and in some cases a blood transfusion is necessary. a low leukocytes count means that the patient will take leukocyte growth factors.
